spotting trends and styling

Creating fashion trend sets is one interesting part for a person who is into the fashion line. It helps expand the creative senses inside a person. Below are a few fashion sets that were created according to AW15 trends.

  1. FLUFFY LOVE : The  trend is all about the fluff and the cozy, comfortable fashion. Indulge in some over the size coats and sweaters, mid-calf boots and pretty mufflers and you're all good to go.

2. LIKE VELVET: This trend focuses on velvet and types of garments available in them. be it skirts, dresses, pants or tops, velvets are nice and keep the body heat inside, thereby making it suitable for winters and stylish at the same time  teaming it up with jackets or boots, good leggings etc, can enhance the whole look.

3. GLAM GEEK: Glamour is'nt all about the bling or over the top thing. It can also be about subtlety and power dressing merging together. The 'geeky look' can play a huge role in making an outfit stand out and look different.

4. BOHO'S BACK: A personal favorite. The Boho look has a certain edge to it. Its free, its young and keeps growing. Very experimental when it comes to trying out new looks in it.

5. GOTHIC ROMANCE : Remember the time when Avril Lavigne was such a hit among teenagers and the guy from Green Day was the ultimate style guru for them?

6. 80's REVIVAL:  This trend is the funkiest of the lot. Experiments and fads were seen a lot during this phase. Spandex worn a lot as a work out garments with leg warmers. Hot colours and bright colors were in. Power shoulders and off shoulders were a rage.

7. THE 70'S STYLE : The 70s bring back a lot of classics and good styles even today. It was and still is a timeless classic if we see anyone take out an element from the 70s and carry it off.

Another way that fashion and its trends can be captured is through simple games. Yes, by games! For example, one can be done simply inside a mall, when you're out shopping or chilling with your friends.

The above picture is an example of a simple trend game that was done. Both the persons above got two trends respectively. Now, the trick here was to make the other person dress up according to the trend each person got.
The person on the right got  70's style and had to dress the person on the left according to that trend. Similarly, the person the left got Gothic Romance as the trend and had to dress up the person on the right.  This was done inside the mall, with only two brands assorted to stylize each other with limited time.

Another game was done inside the classroom. Cards were made and each card was folded into and shuffled across. The first set of cards consisted of names. Each card was picked out and everyone had a name. That formed partners. After the partners were set, Trend cards were made and folded and shuffled. The cards were picked and every person had a different set of trends. So now, each person has a name and a trend. The catch was to assemble one set for the person who's name was written on the card with the particular trend that a person would have. All in a given time limit.

The above image is the trend that i got and assembled the clothes accordingly. The 80's Revival was my trend, so the next best thing that was available was these stretchy denim tights and a very colourful 80s, very relate-able top with a V neck. I could image the partner I got on my name card which was assigned to me in this, along with other teenagers of that time!
